What We Do Not Take!

In order to provide more efficient drop off service, please DO NOT bring any of the following items for electronic waste recycling:

  • any type of light bulb, (remove from fixtures)
  • disposable/single-use household batteries,
  • broken or exposed TV tubes,
  • smoke or carbon monoxide detectors, thermometers, thermostats,
  • dust bags from vaccums, heating pads/blankets, blood pressure cuffs,
  • glass decanters, plastic/glass blender bowls, slow cooker crockery, or microwave
  • Styrofoam, plastic bags, paper, cardboard boxes, plastic bins, wood,
  • furniture, electric organs,  cushioned chairs, mattresses,
  • paint, aerosol cans, chemicals, propane tanks, poisons, oil, or other materials considered hazardous waste.

These materials will be sorted out on site and returned to our customer for proper disposal elsewhere.  See our "Where Can Everything Else Go?" page for more information.

When Indie Cycle is scheduled at the same location with Eco-Depot please make sure your hazardous waste is packed separately from all electronic items.  This will ensure more efficient removal of electronics and keep traffic moving smoothly.  Direct any questions to RIRRC Eco-Depot.  Eco-Depot's webpage has a list of accepted materials and appointments are required for their service.

Our events are open to the public for electronics recycling and we do not require an appointment.  On many occasions we are scheduled with a shred service or Eco-Depot hazardous waste collections and appointments are needed for those vendors.  Please contact the event sponsor or vendor with any questions you may have regarding those services.
